Best Job For Me Quiz – 15 Reasons Why I Should Take One

by best job for me quiz magdalene k

Important Note: This article was written by a contributor/reader of my website.  Contributor/reader opinions contain valuable insight and certainly worth reading.  With that said, contributor opinions may or may not represent my own personal opinions. If you are searching for a career you love- enter your email on this page and get my free “6 Proven Steps To Choosing The Lucrative Career You Love In 15 Days” mini-course.  Best-Matt

For 13 years, I earned a living as a computer technician. It was the career my family had chosen for me. I didn’t know whether or not it was the best career for me, but I stayed in it. The pay was fair and I was young, with fewer cares and concerns. Plus I liked the title it earned me, ‘The Tech Girl’. The tech world was male dominated then, so I felt special.

I, however, hated that I talked to machines more than I did people. My clients stared at me while I worked. They feared that if they spoke, they would disrupt my concentration and their computers would not get repaired. To some extent, they were right. Chatting often derailed me. So I was forced to stay quiet, much as I hated the silence. I was determined to give my customers the desired results.

There were things that I loved though, like touring my clients’ offices. It was like being on a new planet. I met lots of people and gave countless hugs every time I resuscitated a computer or printer. My joy came from seeing them happy and able to accomplish their daily goals. It made me wonder if being a techie was really the best job for me.

NOTE: If you are enjoying this content – you might also like this article that contains a completely different career test.  This article helps you discover how you can pursue a fulfilling career by answering this one question –  What Am I Good At?

Saved By The Career Quiz

While being the tech girl seemed to rock my world, half the time, I found my job unfulfilling. Any day that didn’t involve traveling, chatting with new friends and contributing to their happiness, was a dull day for me. I was torn between risking my pay and the world my family had introduced me to, for a world I didn’t understand.

My turnaround came when a client dared me to take a personality test. He had seen me speaking with confidence to absolute strangers during a cocktail reception and was amazed that a techie could interact so well with strangers. He requested me to join him at yet another event to deliver a short speech. I agreed. On our way back to his office, he dared me to take a career quiz.

So I Googled ‘Best career for me quiz’, and took the tests just to prove him wrong. It didn’t make sense to me. Why did he want me to take a job quiz to know if I was in the right career? But he insisted. He was certain that I was a better speaker than a techie. Needless to say, he was right. But I learned a great lesson. Being a techie was not the best job for me. It was time for a change. Today, I feel great pride when delivering a motivational speech or mentoring a young person in growing their talent-based business. It is the best job for me.

There are many people in the world today who are unhappy like I was because they are pursuing the wrong careers. But they continue to endure the pain and hold on to those jobs. Research shows that the major reason why many employees lack job satisfaction is their jobs don’t connect with their passions. Taking a ‘best job for me’ test before changing jobs reduces the chance of such sad compromises.

There are thousands of career assessment tests available online today. Most of them are free. On average, they contain about 20 questions and take about 20 minutes to complete. The results are instant. A ‘best job for me quiz’ aims at evaluating your personal qualities and comparing them with the attributes required in varying jobs. There is no valid reason why anyone should join college, switch jobs or start a business before taking a ‘best career for me quiz.’

Find The Career You Love - Match To 1000 Well Paying Careers - Takes Minutes

15 Compelling Reasons Why You Should Take That ‘Best Job For Me Quiz’

After taking a series of career assessment tests, I found the best job for me. I left the tech world with my head held high. No love lost. Here are the benefits I observed in taking career tests; something you should consider doing right away.

1. Understanding yourself better

The best career test will help you weigh your values, passions, strengths (and weaknesses), and desired lifestyle. It is like asking yourself over and over, “What do I love doing”, and answering the question in varying ways. Each answer leads to a deeper understanding of who you are.

2. Revealing careers that suit you

After evaluating the things you love doing, the career test results elaborate why you fit well in particular careers more than others. These suggestions connect you with jobs that match your personal attributes.

3. Being confident in taking the right job for you

When you know the job you want fits well within your personal attributes, you are confident in taking it. You don’t second guess your ability to produce great results. This confidence is based on the fact that you love doing what it entails and are prepared to give your best. At that point, failure is not an option.

4. A ‘best job for me quiz’ reduces job-hopping

Jumping from one job to another doesn’t guarantee happiness. In fact, in most cases, it decreases your productivity. If you have been job-hopping because you feel misunderstood or discontented with your current job, a career test will help diagnose the real problem. Instead of hopping to yet another miserable job resolve to make a well-educated career shift aided by a ‘best job for me quiz.’

5. Exposing you to careers you never imagined existed

When you take a job quiz, you are provided with a list of jobs that match your strengths. Take that opportunity to research each suggestion, especially those that are new to you. Dare to venture into unfamiliar grounds. They will lead you to your destiny.

6. A ‘best job for me quiz’ matches you with a job suited for you

Finding a job that matches your personal attributes is not easy. That doesn’t mean you have to compromise. With the detailed results provided after taking a career quiz, you can match your personal attributes with a great job.

7. Ability to create important solutions for your community

Every community is affected by societal and socio-economic problems. By understanding your innate abilities and skills, you can create solutions to tackle such problems in your community. My community lacked business mentors for young people who desired to pursue talents outside the academic world. After evaluating my abilities, I found the best career for me. I created a mentorship program for talented youths. Today, I fill that much-needed gap.

8. Earning good pay doing what you love

Whether you decide to work for yourself, shift employers, or solve a problem within your community, you can earn a living doing the work you love. Improve your skills in areas you are passionate and high paying work will follow

9. The ‘best career for me quiz’ reveals valuable hidden interests

Career tests take you down the self-discovery process, unearthing interests buried deep inside you. In the process of nurturing my public speaking skills, I learned by listening to other speakers. This helped me unleash the power of active listening, an interest I didn’t know I had. I found myself listening more without interrupting. Ultimately, giving my audience a better opportunity to express themselves.

10. Creating an opportunity to outshine your competition

Once your personal attributes are measured and defined in a ‘best career for me quiz’ you now understand your strengths and can optimize them to your advantage. Sharpen the skills in your strongest areas and create a competitive advantage in your industry.

11. Investing your resources well

To avoid wasting both time and money in pursuing a career that isn’t close to your heart, consider taking several of the best career quizzes available online or offline. They will help you make a better decision in determining the kind of career that fits you. After finding the best career for me, my resources are now channeled into building a better me in my public speaking.

NOTE: Matt’s Aptitude Test.  I think you will enjoy it 🙂

12. Quit a job you hate

Once you learn that your misery at work is not caused by your workmates but rather the conflict between what you do and what you love doing, you can plan your exit strategy. Before leaving your current job, consider attaining adequate skills in the job you will transition to. That way, you won’t stay unemployed for long periods of time.

13. Courage to change your goals to ‘best job for me’ goals

Family and peer pressure may have driven you to a college and major that was not your true fit and landed you in a job you hate. That means you are choosing a career based on other people’s expectations. After taking a ‘best job for me quiz’ you should create new goals for yourself, that may include choosing a completely different career direction.

14. Building a healthier family

If you have been wondering why your children desire careers that you don’t understand, let career tests open your eyes to their world. As a parent, encourage your children to take different career tests. Learn their personalities and encourage the quiet child to search for the best careers for introverts. This will help you guide them in choosing careers that are meaningful to them.

15. Making a happier you

“The two enemies of human happiness are pain and boredom.” Wrote Arthur Schopenhauer.
Take this chance to erase the pain and boredom you earn from hanging on to a job you hate. There is more to life than making money. That ‘more’ is your happiness. This is the measure of your true achievement.

Borrowing from the words of Richard Branson, “The best advice I could give anyone is to spend your time working on whatever you are passionate about in life.” The best job for me was hidden behind my passions. With ‘the best career for me quiz’ you can reveal your strongest qualities and pursue the best job for you. Don’t regret your past, it is a good lesson. But now that you know the way, take the right career path for you.
